A photo of a class section’s name in a school in Cotabato that says, “Grade One – Jed Madela,” has been circulating on social media, which some netizens thought was an edit.
Well, it was confirmed that it’s an actual section name of grade one students at Albert Einstein School, as Madela shared it on his official Facebook page! The singer-songwriter expressed his appreciation for the school for naming one of its class sections after him.
“In times when I feel so unimportant and ignored in one corner, my Lord picks me up and gives me the tightest hug. I am so honored. Woke up to these photos sent by my friend Manduyog Rashid,” he wrote.
The Forevermore hitmaker also posted photos of tarpaulins with his face on them and texts, “First Filipino to win the World Championships of Performing Arts 2005,” hanging in the classrooms. To recall, he bagged six gold medals at the international competition in 2005.
“This is from Albert Einstein School in Cotabato where they named Grade One under me! I’m so happy!!! Sending my my love and thanks to Sir Edison, the faculty and the students! Hope to visit you in the future!!!” he added.
In the comments section, netizens cheered for Madela, while others playfully suggested different names of singers and actors as a class section title. They wrote:
“WELL DESERVED. He is a World Class Artist that championed for the Philippines.”
“Grade 3 – Kitchi Nadal Medley”
“Grade 5 Seconds of Summer”
“Grade 4 – Kween Yasmin (manifesting)”
Albert Einstein School recognizes the talents and contributions of prominent Filipino artists in the country by naming its class sections after them, including Lea Salonga, Hidilyn Diaz, Carlos Yulo, and more.
