JC Santos has finally confirmed the rumors: he is now expecting his first child with his non-showbiz girlfriend Shyleena Herrera who he has already married.

In an interview with the media during the press conference for his upcoming film with Bela Padilla, “On Vodka, Beers, and Regrets,” JC called 2019 his “best year” for having his wishes fulfilled not only in his career but also in his personal life.
He shared that he met up with his “high school crush” who rejected him 15 years ago and decided, only months after dating, to ask her hand in marriage.
“2019 is the best year for me,” he said. “2019 lahat, sobrang thankful ako kay Lord na lahat ng pangarap ko, lahat ng dasal ko natupad pati ‘yung sa career. (Everything in 2019, I’m so thankful to the Lord that all my hopes, all my prayers have been answered even with my career.)”
“Pero bukod doon sa career ko actually, ‘yung crush ko noong high school na na-basted ako 15 years ago, nagkita kami ulit at hindi ko na siya pinakawalan (But aside from my career, actually, I reunited with my high school crush who rejected me 15 years ago and I didn’t want to let her go again),” he revealed.
He and Shyleena tied the knot in September and are preparing for the birth of their first daughter next month.

When asked why he never went public with his life updates, he said that it was because “nobody ever asked.”
“Hindi namin siya nilihim. Ako naman ang social media ko is about work lang (We didn’t hide it. It’s just that my social media accounts are just all about work),” he said.
