It’s official: “It’s Showtime” found its new home at GMA Network! On March 20, the network giants GMA and ABS-CBN held a groundbreaking contract signing for their historic collaboration.
In a statement, the networks said, “The unprecedented move reflects the commitment of GMA and ABS-CBN to deliver top-notch entertainment and serve the Filipino people.”
Aside from the GMA and ABS-CBN executives, the “It’s Showtime” hosts were also present at the contract signing. Vice Ganda, Anne Curtis, Vhong Navarro, Jhong Hilario, Kim Chiu, Jugs Jugueta, Teddy Corpuz, Karylle, Ogie Alcasid, Ryan Bang, Ion Perez, Darren Espanto, and Amy Perez arrived in a caravan at the GMA headquarters, donning ravishing red outfits.
“It’s Showtime” will air on GMA starting April 6 from Monday to Saturday from 12 noon to 2:30 p.m. A day before the contract signing, the noontime show teased its viewers with “good news,” which GMA shared on its social media pages.
The hashtag #ShowtimeSaGMA took the number one spot on the Philippines trending list on X with over 14,000 posts as of writing.
“It’s Showtime” transferred to GTV in July 2023 after its contract with TV5 ended. It will replace TAPE Inc.’s “Tahanang Pinakamasaya,” which went off air this March.
