When In Manila, it’s time to attend the really interesting events from the Asia Society Philippine Foundation

 

Asia Society Philippine Foundation, Inc. is an NGO that’s part of an international organization called Asia Society. We promote and strengthen understanding among the leaders, institutions and people of Asia and the United States through education, leadership, policy and cultural initiatives. Here in the Philippines, some of our programs include:

 

  • the recent visit of the First Southeast Asian Cosmonaut from Malaysia;  
  • the Asia 21 Young Leaders Initiative which gives recognition to young Filipino leaders and gives them the opportunity to meet young leaders from different Asian countries
  • Asia In My Pocket which is a training program starting on January 2012 to April 2012 to those who want to learn how to do business in China, Korea, Singapore, Japan, Malaysia and India and possibly get the chance to meet Ambassadors and diplomats of these countries.

In addition to this, this coming February 8, 2012, Starbucks’ former President Mr. Howard Behar, the brains behind bringing Starbucks out of the US, will be visiting the Philippines to discuss his people-centered approach to business and leadership principles cited in his book “It’s Not About the Coffee”.

 

The talk will be from 1:00 – 5:00 pm and this will include a book signing and the chance to ask questions about the success of Starbucks and other business and leadership advice.
