Is This a New Modus Operandi to Lure Motorists Near Daang Hari?
Those living in the south beware. A possible modus operandi along Daang Hari is being spread on social media. In this possible MO, a group of men approach a car during a red light and slash their tires. No one knows for sure what they’ll do after, but it’s possible that another group (or the same men) will be waiting until the car breaks down. This story was shared to the Alabang Bulletin last week. According the website, the incident occurred last Monday:
Last night on our way home to Parañaque from Cavite, my sister and I got ambushed in Daang Hari around 11pm. We were driving in convoy when suddenly while we were waiting for the green light, I saw 3 men go at her car from behind. When i saw someone kneel beside one of her tires, I started honking at them.
The men did not expect the car behind to be a convoy. In a scary turn of events, the men started to turn to her direction.
Good thing my sister took the cue of my honking like crazy to drive off, and I did the same. Then she called me, saying it feels like something is wrong with her tires so I told her to continue driving and to not stop until we reach a gas station or at least a well-lit area, because we’ll never know if those guys have companions along the road waiting for the car to break down.
When they reached a gas station, they found out that the car’s tires were “sabotaged with God knows what.” She shared this important warning:
To the people out there, and most especially to the lady drivers, please be very very careful. My sister’s car is not tinted, so most probably the guys think it would be easier for them to do what they were planning to do because the driver was a woman. We need to be always alert, also we always need to make sure that car doors are locked at all times.
She also clarified that the event did not take place exactly in Daang Hari, but a road leading to it. According to her, it was the road connecting Daang Hari to Molino.
What do you think? How should we protect ourselves?

have to laugh at some of these comments about using gun. If your a foreigner and you shot a local even if he / she was threatening you, your in deep shit. Period.
I agree with everyone who said shoot then ask later.no intention to kill….just to injure them so they cannot run when the police come to arrest them.
Yeah… “It is more fun in Philippines”…. Another reason why I leave this forsaken country
I think you should stop using the word Modus operandi and replace it with the word trend or way. Using Latin terms usually used in the context of law when a simply word or phrase can be used is more appropriate. Just sayin….
slightly OT: “to Lure Motorists Near Daang Hari” makes it seem that the perpetrators are wanting to bring motorists toward Daang Hari. The title could be better worded. Thanks for the warning though.
