As tabletop roleplaying games continue to grow in popularity across the country, Elpis TTRPG Organizers is on a mission to make the hobby more welcoming, accessible, and enjoyable for everyone, whether they’re seasoned adventurers or rolling their very first d20.
Founded with the belief that great stories are best shared around the table, Elpis specializes in organizing high-quality tabletop roleplaying experiences for players of all backgrounds. From public game days and beginner workshops to private events, corporate team-building sessions, and professional Dungeon Masters for hire, the organization aims to remove the barriers that often make tabletop RPGs intimidating to newcomers.
“We believe anyone can enjoy tabletop roleplaying games,” the Elpis team shares. “You don’t need to know all the rules or have years of experience. You just need curiosity, imagination, and a willingness to tell a story together.”
At its core, Elpis is committed to building spaces where creativity, collaboration, and community come first. Every event is designed to foster meaningful connections through shared storytelling, encouraging players to work together, solve problems, and create memorable adventures around the table.
As part of this mission, Elpis is partnering with When In Manila and SideQuest Café to present The First Roll, a beginner-friendly Learn to Play Dungeons & Dragons Adventurers League event.
Designed specifically for newcomers, the event features a complete one-shot adventure that can be finished in approximately three to four hours. Participants will create or receive a character, learn the basics of Dungeons & Dragons, and experience a full adventure guided by experienced Dungeon Masters using the official Dungeons & Dragons Adventurers League organized play format.
Unlike long-running campaigns that span months or years, a one-shot offers players a complete story in a single session, making it the perfect introduction to the hobby. No prior experience is required, and all necessary materials will be provided.
Beyond teaching the rules, Elpis hopes to introduce participants to what makes tabletop roleplaying special: collaborative storytelling, creative problem-solving, and unforgettable moments shared with fellow players.
By creating events that are welcoming, structured, and beginner-focused, Elpis aims to grow the local tabletop gaming community while helping more Filipinos discover a hobby built on imagination, friendship, and adventure.
