Is Keanu Reeves Joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe?

We’ve loved Keanu Reeves for a long-ass time and no matter how many hot new celebrities we take a liking to, we still come running at the first sign of his activities. And right now, the activities seem to be overflowing.

Keanu has starred in some of the biggest blockbuster sci-fi films throughout his career. Neo from The Matrix? A legendary icon. John Wick from John Wick? An older, broodier, and more violent icon, yes, but an icon nonetheless. But is Keanu about to join one of the biggest franchises out there?

Keanu as John Wick

There have been a lot of rumors and speculations surrounding this. One of the earlier and more popular of the rumors is that Marvel is courting Keanu into starring in their upcoming The Eternals film. The Eternals are basically an evolved sub-race of humans that have been experimented on by all-powerful entities called the Celestials. Angelina Jolie and Richard Madden are rumored to be part the project, already making the cast attractive both aesthetically and investment-wise.

Who Keanu would be playing in the Eternals is anyone’s guess, but it has got fans really excited!

These are the Eternals; they’re kind of cool.

The second and most recent rumor, posed as a “leak”, is that Keanu has signed on to become part of Guardians of The Galaxy vol. 3 as Adam Warlock. The character was first introduced at the end of Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 2 in a post-credit scene where the Sovereign Ayesha created a man and named him Adam.

Many fans assumed that he’d make an appearance during Infinity War because, in the comics, Adam was the one in possession of the Soul Stone. Imagine a blonde man with a stone on his forehead much like Vision. He has also wielded the Infinity Gauntlet at one point; but obviously, things ended up differently in the MCU.

To this day, there are no official reports about Keanu joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe, only never-ending rumors about his involvement in the franchise’s Phase 4. And since we probably won’t be hearing any news until the San Diego Comic Con in July, don’t expect Marvel to drop a huge bomb like a Keanu casting any time before then.
