She’s Back! Scarlett Johansson Spotted Filming “Black Widow” Solo Movie

It’s been a good month or so since we’ve last encountered Scarlett Johansson’s Natasha Romanoff aka “Black Widow” on the big screen and needless to say, the character’s fate in Avengers: Endgame left a sour taste in all of our mouths.

However, recently spotted in a small village in Norway was the Black Widow herself completely in costume and with the iconic red hair. Photos and a bit of video footage from the site reveal little to nothing of the movie’s plot, but it does seem like the speculation that the Black Widow movie may be a prequel or an origin story could actually lead to something.

The news of the production starting comes as a surprise as it has been said that the filming for the movie will begin in June and it’s only the last few days of May. Either way, fans are definitely excited to see their favorite spy in action again.

It’s taken Marvel Studios years to finally put this movie into production and they’re not letting anyone in on their secrets so far. What we do have currently is a short cast list, the knowledge that Scarlett Johansson is also producing, and absolutely no clue which of the Black Widow’s many facets the film would be focusing on. “Blue Bayou”, the current working title that’s been found on the set, could mean absolutely anything or nothing. Marvel likes their secrets.

BLACK WIDOW RED ROOM

There have been theories that the Black Widow movie will be mainly set in between Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Infinity War while others say that it’s set in between Infinity War and Endgame. Either way, assuming that Natasha’s movie would give us more information regarding her KGB background and being trained in the Red Room would be a pretty safe bet.

Fans of Black Widow in the comics would also know that the Winter Soldier himself trained her in the Red Room and Bucky Barnes actor Sebastian Stan has been pretty vocal about wanting to see that dynamic play out on screen. However, with Marvel keeping a tight lid on details about the movie, what it’s really about could be anybody’s guess.

One thing’s for sure though, we miss Natasha Romanoff and we’re excited to see her on the big screen again.
