Ipil Suites: Puerto Princesa’s Best Value Hotel

If you are looking for an affordable, convenient and fuss-free place to stay in Puerto Princesa, Ipil Suites is the place to be. Ipil Suites is located a mere block away from the Puerto Princesa Airport. Despite the short distance, though, we were still picked up by Kuya Mark in the Ipil Suites shuttle van. We received door-to-door service even before we got to the entrance of the hotel.

After a quick check-in, were given the opportunity to place our order for our next meal with our desired time. After ordering our tocino and danggit breakfast, we went up to our room which was a comfortable space on the third floor.

There was a double bed and a single bed in the air conditioned space. The ceiling fan was also an added treat.

The bathroom was spotless and provided a nice hot shower with all the toiletries needed to get yourself ready for bed or a night out in town.

The location was on Puerto Princesa’s Rizal street where you can find everything you need from numerous bars to an array of restaurants. Down the driveway is the fancy French cuisine of La Terrasse, down the street are Ka Inato, Kambuchs, Tiki Bar, other known restaurants, bars, and many canteen-style eateries (READ: 10 Must Try Dishes and Delicacies in Puerto Princesa).

Of course, if you are in the area for tours there are tons of offices in the area and at the airport (again just across the street) that can cater to your island hopping needs. If you’re in the city for work, the hotel provides a conference space on the first floor and a large dining area on the fourth floor.

For those simply wanting a retreat, you can stay in, watch TV in your room and go upstairs to the rooftop restaurant which has amazing views of the green landscape in the area.

Each night, Ipil provides a Shabu Shabu dinner with fresh seafood and veggies. We got to try it on our second night and were pleased with how wonderful the taste was, including all the sauces that was provided. During breakfast, we were given a choice of a typical Filipino breakfast. There is also a buffet area with fruits, breads, jams and some coffee, tea and juices. We enjoyed our coffee and meals each day in the dining space as it was breezy and had decent WiFi.

Overall, we found the combination of Ipil’s staff, comfort of rooms, tasty dinner, and location great value for price of each night. We will surely be back on our next Palawan trip.
