Apple just launched the Apple Vision Pro and Apple Watch Series 9 with the iPhone 15 series, including the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max which they described as the “most Pro iPhone” they have ever created! The iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max were unveiled during the launch with an introduction video that highlights their titanium case–the first iPhone models with a titanium body. It is available in four colors: Black Titanium, White Titanium, Blue Titanium, and Natural Titanium. At first glance, these latest iPhones look premium and professional…but it’s way more than that.
Titanium actually offers durability while keeping it lightweight, which sets a huge difference every single time you hold it in your hand. Furthermore, the Grade 5 Titanium used on the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max is the same material used on a Mars Rover which provides one of the highest strength-to-weight ratios of any metal. In short, the iPhone 15 Pro is Apple’s lightest Pro lineup ever.
Personally, I steered clear of these bigger models because of how heavy they are and how they strain my wrist after using them for a while, so it’s actually something that I am excited to experience. In addition, the iPhone 15 features curved corners giving smooth edges to its standard rectangular shape. That being said, it is definitely anticipated to feel different the first time users pick one up.

This material also minimizes its borders, making way for more space for the display screen. The iPhone 15 Pro has a 6.1-inch display, while the iPhone 15 Pro Max has a 6.7-inch display. Even though they may sound similar to the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max screen sizes, the latest models ultimately have a slightly larger screen-to-body ratio.
Also, their Super Retina XDR screen that features OLED technology will be brighter with the capability of going up to 2000 nits in sunlight. The improved display specs are expected to deliver a better view of HDR photos too, hand-in-hand with its groundbreaking camera features.
Packed with seven lenses enabled by the A17 Pro chip, the 48MP Main camera offers more flexibility for photos and videos. The iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max’s multiple focal lengths include 0.5x Ultrawide (Macro), 0.5x Ultra Wide (13 mm), 1x Main (24 mm), 1x Main (28 mm), 1x Main (35 mm), 2x Telephoto (48 mm), and the new 5x Telephoto (120 mm).
You read it right–one of the new things about the iPhone 15 Pro and the iPhone 15 Pro Max camera is Apple’s longest optical zoom ever on iPhone: the 5x zoom (120 mm). Together with an innovative “tetraprism design” that combines an advanced stabilization system and autofocus 3D sensor-shift module, this iPhone 15 Pro Max feature will be great for concerts, sports, and wildlife photography and videography. Basically, catching the action from further distances.

Speaking of videos, Apple now lets us shoot “magical spatial videos” and then “relive” them on Apple Vision Pro. The iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max can shoot 3D videos by using the advanced Ultra Wide cameras together with the Main cameras, which you can then view using the soon-to-be-released Apple VR headset.
When using the camera, also remember that the default is set to the new 24MP super-high-resolution compressed at practical file size, but the Main camera can support 48MP HEIF images with 4x more resolution for when you need it. And you can now choose your preferred default among its new camera settings.
On top of that, the A17 Pro chip allows for the next level of mobile gaming. Called “the biggest redesign in the history of Apple GPUs,” this new technology enables gamers to immerse in its detailed environments and more realistic characters with speed and efficiency. Exclusive video game franchises are even said to be available on the latest iPhones soon.
With the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, Apple has also reinvented the Action button. Aside from putting your iPhone into silent mode, you can now customize it as a shortcut to your favorite feature. Once you have set it, all you need to do is press and hold to launch the action.

Finally, my favorite iPhone update this 2023 is its Dynamic Island! It “bubbles up” alerts and Live Activities, in contrast with notification alerts that slide down to your screen. In it, you will be able to track your next ride, see who’s calling, check your flight status, and more. It will also help you multitask as the Dynamic Island splits into two so you can keep an eye on both activities at once. You may even touch and hold to expand one of them or simply tap to open the app you need to prioritize.
