Over 10 years ago, in 2008, Albien Gacias was diagnosed with lung cancer. He underwent chemotherapy and beat cancer eventually, headed off to med school, and dreamed of becoming a physician himself, in order to heal like he was healed before. He juxtaposes a photo of him back then and a photo of him now, fully ready to become a doctor and aid those in need.
“10 years ago ang pinagdadasal ko lang naman ay ang gumaling, wala akong idea na gagawin mo pala akong instrumento para ako naman ang makapagpagaling ng iba. Sobrang amazing mo Lord! Thank you! I am now licensed to heal,” he writes on his Facebook caption, thanking God for his recovery and how he eventually also became someone who is “licensed to heal.”
We truly admire Gacias for his strength and resilience in the face of his cancer and the difficulties that med school brought. What an inspiration! Good luck, doc!
