On a “Magandang Buhay” guesting, Ian Veneracion shared his support for his daughter, Deirdre “Dids” Veneracion, who came out to him as a lesbian when she was 16 years old. She’d approached him while he was working on his car and said, “I like girls.” In response, he said, “Me also, I like girls.”
Veneracion had apparently known since she was young and she was confused at first. He reassured her that it was okay and that he would support her and accept her for who she was no matter what. “You can be whoever you want to be and I have full support,” he said to her.
The now 19-year-old hed back tears then and wondered if it was okay. Veneracion continued to tell her that she never had to apologize for who she was.
