After LANY released four extremely heartbreaking songs, LANY’s second album Malibu Nights was released during the moon’s waning crescent phase. LANY’s Malibu Nights album is composed of nine tracks and has a story that Paul Jason Klein recently talked about in his interviews.
Apparently, this album served as an emotional outlet while he processed a recent heartbreak. Klein mentioned that this album has “the nine best songs we’ve ever written”.

LANY’s frontman Paul Jason Klein unexpectedly wrote the Malibu Nights album during what people think was the time after his breakup with singer Dua Lipa.
It was quite unexpected for him to finish songs for the album so quickly without even having a deadline. The songs were composed between January 4 and February 14 when things were rough and he needed to focus on something else. It was a very significant season for PJK.
All tracks on LANY’s Malibu Nights are good. You will really feel the emotions. Whether you are currently broken or not, you will really feel the pain. My favorite tracks on Malibu Nights are Thru These Tears and Thick and Thin because I can fully relate to them. It’s like I shared my story with Paul Jason Klein regarding my own heartbreak.

The song Run is rumored to be about Dua Lipa. It is actually reminiscent to Ed Sheeran’s Don’t, telling a story dedicated to an ex.
