Herlene Budol, also known as the Hipon Girl, is set to represent the Philippines at the Miss Planet International 2022 pageant.
The news was announced by the organization, which announced, “We are glad to announce that Herlene Nicole Budol[,] first runner-up of Binibining Pilipinas 2022[,] will represent The Philippines at the Miss Planet International 2022 pageant.”
It added, “Candidates from all over the world will enjoy the beauty of Lake Victoria, [the] world’s largest tropical lake, the most exuberant magic of the green of its nature that dominates Ugandan landscapes.”
Budol’s manager, Wilbert Tolentino, revealed that he has the exclusive rights to select the country’s candidate since he is the national director of Miss Planet International Philippines.

According to Miss Planet International, its mission is the “compliance of the 17 sustainable development goals of the 2030 agenda accepted by the United Nations members. The pageant also aims to “enrich the UN agenda by proposing the addition of the Goal number 18 created by our candidates.”
It adds, “Each candidate will have the opportunity to propose the creation of the Sustainable Development Goal number 18. We will gather all the proposals and forward them to the United Nations office.”
Miss Planet International will be held on November 19, 2022, in Kampala, Uganda.
