If you’ve been putting off getting a valid ID because of long waiting times, this update might make things a bit easier.
The Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) has started offering same-day release of Postal IDs at two locations in Manila: SM City Manila and Robinsons Otis.

At SM City Manila, applications for same-day processing are accepted on weekdays from 11 AM to 12 PM on the fifth floor. Those heading to Robinsons Otis can apply at its post office branch between 10 AM and 12 PM.
Applicants who submit within these time windows can expect to receive their Postal ID later in the day. According to PHLPost, IDs are released at 4 PM, Monday through Friday. Submissions made after noon will instead be scheduled for release the next day.
The Postal ID remains one of the more accessible government-issued IDs available. It’s valid for three years and is recognized as a primary identification document by agencies such as the Department of Foreign Affairs.
It also comes with added security features like biometrics and a unique hologram, which help make verification more efficient and reduce the risk of forgery.
As for eligibility, Filipino citizens, including those based abroad who are currently in the country, may apply. Foreign residents who have lived in the Philippines for at least six months are also eligible.
The standard application fee is ₱550, while rush processing is available for ₱650.
For those planning to apply, it may be helpful to review the full list of requirements before your visit to avoid delays.
