Here’s what Pope Francis thinks about same-sex civil union

In its debut at the Rome Film Festival last Wednesday, Evgeny Afineevsky’s ‘Francesco’ made headlines around the world as Pope Francis shared his opinion on same-sex marriage in the documentary.

International sources quoted the Pope in the film saying that “Homosexuals have a right to be a part of the family. They’re children of God and have a right to a family. Nobody should be thrown out, or be made miserable because of it.”

Last month, we recall Pope Francis announced in a gathering with an association that fosters the formation of LGBT Christians and their families – “the church loves your children as they are because they are children of God.”

However, his statement on Afineevsky’s documentary is said to be his most obvious remark yet toward the LGBTQ community. “What we have to create is a civil union law,” the Pope stated.
