According to the page, “Kulay will take you to a time travel to see black and white photos in vivid colors.” Through color restoration, you can see photos of our own Philippine heroes in vivid colors, different from the black and white photos we are used to.

One of the photos they have restored is a photo of Katipunan leader, Andres Bonifacio. The faded photograph is dated 1896, and some say that it was taken during his second wedding to Gregoria de Jesus.

Aside from photos of our fallen heroes, Kulay Colorization also restores images of historical events. For example, this photo of the 1911 eruption of the Taal Volcano was brought to life through colorization.

However, Kulay Colorization notes that these colored photos are not a substitute the black and white photos. According to them, “Photo colorization is not perfect when it comes to color. It is the artist’s discretion what color to choose.” Most of the colors are carefully researched for accuracy.
