Grid Magazine x Chevrolet’s The Grid Gallery: Capturing The Filipino Identity
Grid Magazine, the newest magazine for travelers, along with Chevrolet presented The Grid Gallery, a one-day photo exhibit that explores Filipino identities at the Event Space, Century City Mall in Makati City.
The photo gallery features a top-notch selection of photos by some of the country’s most revered travel photographers, whose pieces will be sold off for the benefit of the Cordillera Conservation Trust (CCT). The CCT is anย environmental organization dedicated to the preservation of the important ecosystems in the Cordillera. With membersย mountaineers and avid trail runners, mountain bikers, and outdoors people, they encourage people to get a good sense of the outdoors as a foundation for their environmentalism.
The Grid Gallery also showcased photo essays from Francisco Guerrero, Katherine Jack, and Geric Cruz, whose photos portray their interpretation of the Filipino identity– and recognize that there is no one answer to it.
Grid says that there are a multitude of aspects to the Filipino identity, and the discussion is made from the perspective of the three photographers. Some of the photos included in the gallery are also selections from the pages of Grid Magazine.
True to their manifesto, each piece displays a slice of a story from their experiences in travel — as no two people experience the same place in the same way.ย
Sarah Meier as host of the Grid Gallery.
Books by some of the country’s best artists such as Bencab were also on sale.
