“Grand Theft Auto 6” Is Delayed Again—Here’s When It’s Coming Out

Fans waiting for Grand Theft Auto VI will have to hang on a bit longer. Rockstar Games has officially announced that the release of the long-awaited title has been pushed back once more—this time to November 19, 2026.

The update was shared during Take-Two Interactive’s second-quarter earnings call. According to the company, the delay will give the team “additional time to finish the game with the high level of polish players expect and deserve.” Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick added that they remain confident in Rockstar’s progress, saying the team is “constantly seeking perfection.”

GTA 6 was originally announced for a fall 2025 release, then moved to May 2026. The new date marks the game’s second delay within a year.

While some fans have expressed disappointment, others seem understanding, especially given Rockstar’s history of taking its time with major releases like GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2, both of which were delayed before becoming massive successes.

Zelnick also noted that GTA Online updates will continue as usual despite the delay.

The announcement comes as Take-Two reported its best second quarter in company history, driven by strong performances from NBA 2K26, Mafia: The Old Country, and Borderlands 4. GTA V also continues to perform well, with more than 220 million copies sold worldwide.
