Did you know that three Filipinos are vying for “Queen of the Mothertucking World” in the third season of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK vs the World?

On January 8, Wow Presents Plus revealed the roster of fierce and talented drag queens who will be competing on the third season of the popular all-star series. Out of ten contestants, three of them are Filipinos: Minty Fresh, Zahirah Zapanta, and Melinda Verga.
Minty Fresh competed on the first season of Drag Race Philippines in 2022, where she placed fifth. She now becomes the second Drag Race Philippines alum to join UK vs The World, following fellow Season 1 contestant Marina Summers, who competed and placed fourth.

“I was the first ever winner of a challenge and the first ever receiver of a badge. And I’m also the first one to be robbed for a spot in the finale, so that’s why I’m here to claim what’s mine,” she fiercely said in an announcement video. “My sister Marina Summers is here before, but you didn’t crown her. So this time, I’m going to get that crown for my sis.”
Meanwhile, Zahirah Zapanta is a Filipino-born British drag performer who competed on the sixth series of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK, where she finished in the 10th spot.

“She’s back baby, and she’s going to take over the world! Period.” Zahira exclaimed. “I leveled up. I ain’t scared of none of these girls. This time, I’m ready to fight tooth and nail because I want it.”
Finally, Melinda Verga clinched the fifth spot on the fourth season of Canada’s Drag Race. During that season, she won the Snatch Game challenge for impersonating Manny Pacquiao.

“I’m just super excited to be here and I can’t wait to show the rest of the world what I’m all about,” Melinda said. “I am an international, universal, intergalactic phenomenon.”
The other drag queens competing are Mariah Balenciaga, Sminty Drop, Kate Bush, The Only Naomy, Serena Morena, Gawdland, and Fontana.
RuPaul’s Drag Race UK vs The World Season 3 will premiere on January 27 on Wow Presents Plus.
