Adobong Talong (Adobo Eggplant) P 88
A personal favorite – Adobong Talong is a clever eggplant dish with adobo flavor. This should be a staple native dish, it is that delicious!
Grilled Pork Belly – P 125
Wow! One of our favorite dishes! The Golden Cowrie Pork Belly was so flavorfully deliscious, we could have eaten two plates of it had we not had so many other dishes on our table! Definitely recommended and at that price? You simply can’t go wrong!
Nghohiong – P72, Tuna Panga – P 189
Nghohiong is a dish native to Cebu, basically the local version of deep fried spring rolls.
The tuna steak was just the way it is supposed to be: still a bit pink and perfectly tender.
Lechon Kawali – P 179
Tortang Talong – P 88
I’m definitely biased when it comes to Tortang Talong as it is my absolute favorite Filipino dish at home. Eggplant cooked or fried, flavored or plain just simply tastes divine! This fried eggplant was very well prepared at Golden Cowrie and is one of my must-trys!
 Dessert
Cheese ice cream on top of an ube cream stuffed salty and crispy biscuit dough. Very interesting combination of flavors that work surprisingly well together!
Crème Brûlée style mango & pineapple dessert: a thin layer of caramel topping two of the the country’s favorite local fruits. A simple yet innovatively genius must-try dessert!

A true dinner feast at Golden Cowrie Restaurant!
Friendly smiles of the staff welcome the guests. The restaurant supervisor has been with Golden Cowrie since its opening in 1982.
While Hukad’s Golden Cowrie already counts several locations throughout Visayas and Mindanao to its restaurant portfolio, each branch offers a warm homey atmosphere in interiors, service and food that makes it feel like a unique family restaurant.
We truly enjoyed our dinner feast at Golden Cowrie Restaurant in Lahug, Cebu. The atmosphere was lovely, the staff friendly and the food tasty. Our dinner was a great introduction of Filipino dishes to the international visitors in our group. While all the food we sampled was incredibly sarap, our recommendations are the Baked Scallops for starters, Grilled Pork Belly, Sisig, Gambas and Chicken Pandan for entrees and the Crème Brûlée fruits for dessert.
Warm and inviting native interiors at Golden Cowrie Restaurant.
With branches in Cebu, Boracay, Bohol, Dumaguete, Tacloban, Bacolod, Davao, CDO, Gensan, Ozamis, Butuan and Tagum, it should only be a matter of time until the restaurant finds its way to the metro to offer authentic Filipino cuisine feast-style when in Manila. Crossing our fingers that this will happen sooner rather than later, we will be counting the days until then and in the meantime feast our eyes on the pictures of our amazing Golden Cowrie experience in Cebu.
