Rapper Gloc-9 has spoken up following fans criticizing him on social media for performing at a campaign rally for Vice President Jejomar Binay, who is running for President.
Posting on his official Facebook page, Gloc-9 started his statement with:
Pinag sabihan po ako ng aking managment na huwag nang mag salita tungkol dito pero di ko po kaya.
Gloc-9 then goes on to say that he is aware of the criticism surrounding his performance, and stresses that he was simply doing his job.
Paumanhin po kung hindi nasunod ang gusto ninyo at mawalang galang na din po sa mga nag sasabing hindi pwedeng TRABAHO LANG ITO dahil ITO LAMANG NAMAN PO ANG TRABAHO KO.
As one of the pillars in the local rap music industry, Gloc-9 shares how he fought for almost two decades to be where he is now, and turn rap into a legitimate career to provide for his family.
Gloc-9 also said that he has performed onstage for different candidates, which does not necessarily reflect his political views or endorsement of any candidate.
Ako ay kumakanta sa entablado ng ibat ibang kandidato marahil ay hindi nyo lang gusto ang isang entabladong sinampahan ko.
The rapper also stressed that he is above all a father, obligated to provide for his child:
At sa may mga sama ng loob kung sakaling ang lahat po ng bintang duro at akusasyon ninyo sa huli ay mapapatunayang tama at tunay hihingi po ako ng tawad ngunit hindi sa kahit na sino man dahil higit sa aking pagiging manunulat ng awitin, higit sa aking pagiging ehemplo at higit sa aking pagiging mamamayan ako po ay isang Ama. Hihingi ako ng tawad sa aking mga anak dahil naniniwala ako na sa kanila lamang ako may pananagutan.
