Filipino singer-songwriter Garett Bolden proudly shared on Instagram that he’s set to play “Beast” in Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast: The Broadway Musical” in Guam.
“A Dream indeed! thank you for this opportunity @wtpguam, i cant wait to take on one of Disney’s Classic Character and Story and im sure i would learn a lot and it would be another experience i would never forget,” [sic] he wrote.
Dubbed as the Kapuso Soul Balladeer, the 31-year-old recalled his experiences in joining the cast of Miss Saigon in Guam in 2022, where he played the role of an American GI named John Thomas.
“When i joined the cast of Miss Saigon Guam last year, the experience was full of joy, tears and excitement. but i must admit i got nervous at first. the pressure and excitement , learning the lines, songs, blockings etc. it was HARD,” [sic] he added.

Garett also talked about his awakening during Miss Saigon, which inspired him to audition as Beast. “But during our last curtain call i cried like a baby, it was an awakening… i knew on that moment that i would do anything to do Theatre again. so when i heard that they would do Beauty and the Beast this year, i auditioned and now… im playing Lead, as the Beast!” [sic].

“To everyone who showed support and believed in me in everything i do THANK YOU. i will continue in making you all Proud!” [sic] he concluded.

Disney’s Beauty and the Beast: The Broadway Musical 2023 premieres in early September.
