With a career spanning decades, Rolan has firmly established himself as one of the Philippines’ foremost hyper-realistic watercolorists. His remarkable ability to transform ordinary subjects into profound artistic statements reflects his unwavering dedication, technical excellence, and creative vision.

Among Guina’s most remarkable achievements is his induction into the Hall of Fame of Kulay sa Tubig, the most prestigious and longest-running watercolor competition in the Philippines, now celebrating its 38th year. In an accomplishment that remains unparalleled in the competition’s history, Rolan captured the top honor for three consecutive years—2022, 2023, and 2024—a feat widely regarded as extraordinary given the caliber of artists who participate each year. Winning once at Kulay sa Tubig is itself a significant distinction; securing the highest honor three years in succession is a testament to his unwavering excellence, consistency, and continued innovation in the watercolor medium. This unprecedented achievement firmly established his place among the country’s foremost watercolor masters and stands as one of the defining milestones of his distinguished career.

Featuring 30 of Rolan’s finest watercolor paintings, this special exhibition highlights the extraordinary realism, technical brilliance, and artistic vision that have defined his distinguished career for more than five decades. While highly respected among fellow artists and collectors for his mastery of hyper-realistic watercolor, Rolan’s remarkable body of work deserves to be experienced by an even wider audience.

Collectors, art enthusiasts, fellow artists, and the public are warmly invited to celebrate this milestone exhibition and discover the remarkable artistry of one of the Philippines’ foremost masters of watercolor. Through meticulously rendered urban landscapes, intimate interiors, and familiar scenes of everyday life, Threads of Being invites viewers to reflect on the intricate threads that connect memory, place, and the quiet beauty found in the ordinary.

The exhibition runs until August 31, 2026.
