In a heartfelt Instagram post, Gabbi shared with her fans and followers that the already-closed Japanese restaurant holds a special place in their hearts as a couple.
“Storytime at midnight. Earlier tonight, after dinner, we decided to take a walk around BGC to burn some calories. While strolling past Fort Strip, we remembered seeing an IG post about it closing down—and that’s when it hit us: Ogawa, the very first place we went on a date back in 2017, was actually part of Fort Strip,” she wrote.
“Ogawa has always been so sentimental to us. It’s become a tradition to go back every anniversary, order the same meals, and relive the memories of our first date,” she added.
The 26-year-old actress couldn’t help but shed a couple of tears with the realization: “Seeing it closed broke our hearts!! We were so sad, and yes, I was crying huhu. This place holds so many special memories for us, and we really hope they reopen someday so we can celebrate there again.”
She also shared a series of photos taken at Ogawa through the years, including their very first date in 2017.

“Fun fact: we had them take separate shots since we weren’t dating publicly yet lol,” she added.
To lighten up the mood and spread the good vibes, the television personality asked her followers to share their “kwentong Fort Strip or BGC.”
In early December, BGC’s official social media pages announced that The Fort Strip is indefinitely closing its doors to the public. This unexpected year-end announcement saddened frequent visitors in the area.
“This is goodbye for now but not forever. We’ll be back. Better than you remember, and better than you can imagine,” the post read. “Until we close up on Jan. 1, feel free to hang out at The Strip like you’ve always done! We’ll see you there.”
The Fort Strip, an iconic building for partygoers and foodies, is the home for several clubs and food spots in BGC such as BSK Club Manila, Nectar Nightclub, Tang Korean Restaurant, and My Falafel, among others.
