Gabbi Garcia took to social media to pen an appreciation post for her boyfriend Khalil Ramos after the opening night of the musical Tick, Tick… Boom!, where he played the lead role.
“Still so overwhelmed from last night’s show. You continue to amaze me with your incredible talent, hard work passion, and sincerity, Bub! I’M SO SO PROUD OF YOU. I knew that you could do it since day 1, but somehow you still left me in awe!!!! (In tears also, i was bawling my heart out!!!!),” [sic] she wrote.

Gabbi mentioned that she keeps learning from Khalil everyday and discovering new things about the actor’s love for his craft, which also inspired her.
“I’m not saying this just because we’re partners, but as a person who has high respect for what you do!!!! We’re almost 7 years together, but i’ll never get tired of telling you how you still inspire me every single day. I love you bub and Congratulations!!!!! you deserve the world,” [sic] she added.
In the comments section, her boyfriend wrote, “I love you, my love. Thank you for being by my side through it all.”

Khalil portrayed Jon in Tick, Tick… Boom!, a role which he alternates with theater-actor Jef Flores. Prior to opening night, he looked back on his journey as an actor.

“My life has been a series of leaps of faith, starting with joining a talent search 12 years ago, then trying acting on screen, venturing into starting a business, and falling in love,” he captioned his Instagram post.
The Kapuso actor admitted that he was terrified to do live theater, but he decided to take the risk. He continued, “Although I had been asked in the past to do it, the grand scale of a live show scared me. When these opportunities passed and every time I saw a live show, I couldn’t help but wonder, ‘What if?'”

Tick, Tick… Boom! is an autobiographical musical created by Jonathan Larson that follows the story of Jon, an aspiring composer struggling to choose between chasing his dream to become a theater actor and pursuing a different career path.
It debuted Off-Broadway in 2001 and gained popularity in the 2021 film adaptation directed by Lin-Manuel Miranda, starring Andrew Garfield. This is the third time Tick, Tick… Boom! is staged in the Philippines, following its premiere in 2002 and 2009.
Khalil, known for his roles in 2 Cool 2 Be 4gotten, Dead Kids, LSS, and Love You, Stranger, is set to perform in the musical alongside Reb Atadero, Kayla Rivera, and Vien King on all weekends of August.
