Would you believe that a leading business in Visayas only started with 10K, a phone and a dream?
GCash recently launched the fifth installment of #GCashStories, now focusing on the journey of “Bayani ng Barangay” Rhea Inayan who grew her GCash Pera Outlet that quickly grew in Visayas.
The GCash Pera Outlet (GPO) program aims to help micro and small business owners grow their earnings by offering financial services in their own communities. Signing up is simple, requiring only a verified GCash account, one valid ID, and a picture with their physical store. This program turns local shops into financial hubs, helping partners provide essential services and earn more. Partners enjoy benefits such as higher wallet limits, free signage, and the potential to earn up to ₱40,000 per month. By offering services like Cashing-In, Cashing-Out, Buying Load, and Paying Bills, GCash Pera Outlet partners address a critical pain point in underserved communities where bank access is limited, saving their neighbors long travel times.
Rhea saw this as an opportunity to serve her hometown in Bacolod City and showed how one woman’s determination can uplift an entire neighborhood in Barangay Mandalagan.
“Rhea’s journey reminds us why we do what we do,” said Martha Sazon, President & CEO of Mynt, the holding company of GCash. “As long as there are everyday heroes like her, we’ll keep building products that support them every step of the way.”
Rhea began her entrepreneurial journey in 2008 with Tatti Boutique, a shop selling imported goods. Her business had a loyal following until illness and the pandemic forced her to close.

Determined to start again, she opened a pop-up shop in 2023 at City Mall Mandalagan. Customers often asked if they could cash in or pay bills, and she saw an opportunity. A friend introduced her to the GCash Pera Outlet program.
With just ₱10,000 capital and a handwritten sign, Rhea started small. Today, she is a proud GCash Pera Outlet partner in Visayas.

Rhea’s busiest days are paydays and weekends, when long lines form to send or receive money, pay bills, or buy load. She stays open beyond bank hours, offering convenience to those with tight schedules.
Her commitment goes beyond business; she mentors other aspiring GCash Pera Outlet owners and has referred 10–15 new partners. She even assists senior citizens in navigating the GCash app.
Her guiding principle? Build trust. A value taught by her mother, her “biggest supporter,” who always said: lumaban nang patas (fight fairly).
“We want to bring financial access and progress to every Filipino, wherever they are,” said Jong Layug, General Manager of GCash for Business. “It’s not just about digital payments—it’s about real solutions for small business owners.”

Rhea’s entrepreneurial journey is a testament to the power of the GPO program. Her initial pop-up shop quickly grew into four branches, a jump made possible by the overwhelming demand for the GCash services she provided. This consistent demand proved GPO’s value proposition, enabling Rhea to expand her business and her impact. Her success didn’t stop there; she now mentors other aspiring entrepreneurs too. This shows how GPO isn’t just about individual success but also about community empowerment and scalability, creating a network of everyday heroes who can uplift their neighborhoods.
Rhea’s story proves that with GCash, financial progress is possible for everyone. If you’re a micro or small business owner looking to grow your earnings and provide a valuable service to your community, the GCash Pera Outlet program can help you get started.
