Finding the Good Ol’ Philly Cheese Steak at The Cheese Steak Shop

Aside from the sandwiches, the restaurant also offers choices of salad and different sides to go with your meal. Gerald Ong, General Manager of The Cheese Steak Shop, said that their offerings of side dishes were not something found in the original menu of the food joint. You can choose from onion rings, steak fries, garlic fries, twister fries, buffalo wings, and cheese/chiles poppers to add an extra oomph in your meal. The best seller for us would be the cheese/chiles poppers, which you can order in a “mixed” option so you can taste both the cheese and chilies.

Usual beverages offered in The Cheese Steak Shop are soda and bottled drinks, but if you’re looking for something different, you can also try their floats such as the soda and the coffee floats. For the beer-drinkers, they have a variety of local and imported beers served in subzero temperature. Perfect to cap off a tiring day with!

The Cheese Steak Shop offers a breakfast menu of sausage, bacon, longganisa, Spanish sardines, and Spam, on your choice of garlic bread or garlic rice plus egg! Their breakfast menu also has ham and cheese omelette, choco-banana pancake, and mushroom soup as an alternative to the breakfast meals or a side dish. But you must hurry because the breakfast menu is only available from 8 to 11 am!

According to Mai and Gerald, The Cheese Steak Shop has food trucks that go around the metro, which can be hired for events and catering services. If you don’t have time to drop by their Fort Strip and Amorsolo branches, you can visit them at their regular spot at the Cucina Andare, the food truck market situated in front of Makati Shangri-La and Landmark every Friday to Sunday.

So when you’re in Manila and you’re out to find a feels-like-home Philly cheese steak sandwich, head over to The Cheese Steak Shop to satisfy your homesick craving.
