Finding Beauty and Bliss in Bali, Indonesia’s Sunrise & Sunset.

When in Manila, everyone has their fair share of seeing the sunset and sunrise every single day. But then who actually makes a stop, stare and appreciate? If you love to travel, are you one (like yours truly) who makes the sun the ‘center’ of a travel itinerary? Whilst most people are tucked up in their huge, warm comfy beds on a chilly morning or night, you’d probably spot me outside, by the shore or a hill awaiting for sunrise or sunset.  Every time I see one, I’d feel my heart literally pounding. Perhaps it’s just that the older we get, the more we turn sentimental? Uh-oh, i hope not haha. Most of the time, my travel/journey does not comprise mainly of shopping lists – I am up for those inexpensive yet surreal moments, the kind that makes me crave for its everyday return. In this case, I always thirst for the Mighty Sun King’s luminous and effervescent lights, its gradations of the colors gold, copper, burnt-orange, to bluish-purple-grey is just beyond majestic. Every sunrise and sunset is beautiful in different ways.

Bali is famous not just for its surfer waves but for its cult sunset and sunrise spots. One fine day and we found ourselves hopping on a plane to Bali that simply created a travel agenda of seeing its majestic sunrise and sunset. Trip was worthwhile, an absolute reminder of how significant it is to stay committed to our bucket lists. Bali’s sunrise and sunset brought about pure nostalgia. Are you more of a sunrise or a sunset person?  I believe every sunrise or sunset connotes a plethora of emotions: serenity, comfort, confidence, hope..how about you- what do you really see?

Here is one  Bali Sunset. We did not have to travel far, for I saw it in the heart of Bali – where else but  Kuta.  Kuta Beach is the busiest (and yes, crowded), not to mention its accessibility as it neighbours the Ngurah Rai International Airport in Tuban.  But this is where you will get to see the Classic Sunset in Bali. Besides the mix of tourists that flock here gives the place a more cosmopolitan feel to it in my opinion. This is a sunset that ignites a pure copper calm; like a peach-mango pie in the sky..waiting to be devoured.

The warm glow of Bali’s sunset  brings about positive memories – like chatting and reminiscin’ with your buds over crispy calamari and beer; but it does not just stop there.  While the sun tarries, it  lets you focus and take an earnest look at your present life. In simple terms,  the sun sets and so let your past be; bid adieu to yesterday’s hurtful moments. Instead use it to shape a better future.. a better you. Which brings us to – SUNRISE!
