The winner of Survivor 41 is Filipino-Canadian Erika Casupanan.
She broke some records along the way: Casupanan is the first Canadian and of Filipino descent to win the show. Additionally, she is the first woman to win in seven seasons. The last was Sarah Lacina, who won Survivor: Game Changers in 2017.
Aside from being crowned the winner, Casupanan won $1,000,000.
Prior to joining the show, Casupanan worked as a communications manager in Toronto, Ontario. She has a degree in Media, Information, and Technoculture, and a diploma in Multimedia Design & Production. Casupanan also has a post-graduate certificate in Public Relations.
In the show, players must fend for themselves in an isolated location. They are tested on their physical and mental abilities, and compete in endurance challenges for rewards and immunity. They are gradually eliminated through votes until one player is left to become the sole survivor.
The American version of Survivor, which is adapted from the Swedish show Robinson, has been airing since 2000.
This season was shot in Mamanuca Islands, Fiji.
