This Feminine Hygiene Brand Launches Initiative to Empower Young Girls

In the Philippines, millions of young girls face challenges in managing their periods due to a lack of access to proper menstrual products. Without the right protection, many resort to unsafe alternatives that result in the risk of infections, discomfort, and even missing school. But beyond affordability and availability, the deeper issue lies in the taboo surrounding menstruation, which prevents open conversations and access to education on menstrual health.

No girl should have to feel unprepared or ashamed of her period. That’s why, this Women’s Month, Whisper is taking action. In partnership with World Vision Philippines, Whisper is providing essential period protection to young girls in underserved communities to help them stay in school and manage their periods with dignity.

Through this initiative, Whisper will donate over 1,000 pads to communities in Malabon, particularly in Barangays Concepcion, Longos, and Catmon. To create a lasting impact, the program also includes a menstrual health education seminar, designed to equip young girls with the knowledge and confidence to manage their periods safely, shattering taboos and normalizing discussions on menstrual health.

“Menstruation should never be a reason for girls to miss out on opportunities,” said Katrina Mangubat, Senior Communications Manager of Whisper. “At Whisper, we believe in more than just period protection—we believe in empowering girls to go about their day with confidence, free from worry or shame. This partnership with World Vision is part of our ongoing commitment to ensuring that girls have the right support to manage their periods safely and with dignity.”
