When I visited Puerto Galera last week for the first time for the Malasimbo Music and Arts Festival 2014, I was amazed that despite of the crowded white beach, the beauty of it was still preserved. So if you are planning for Puerto Galera to be one of your destinations this summer, let me enumerate some of the things that you should consider for your vacation and of course your budget good for two people:
HOW TO GET THERE (from Manila)
Budget: 1700PHP Manila-White Beach-Manila (for 2pax)
1. Take a bus bound to BATANGAS PIER (175/HEAD) . Try the Jam Liner located along EDSA near Kamuning.
2. From Batangas Port, look for Minolo Shipping Lines and buy boat tickets bound to white beach (270/head one way or 500/head round trip). We suggest to buy a roundtrip ticket to save.
3. BATANGAS PORT to MANILA (175/HEAD)
ACCOMMODATION

One of the things that I really make sure of whenever going on a vacation is to find a comfortable place to stay at. I’m not saying it should be fancy, but what’s important for me is it is clean and cozy enough to feel that I’m on a break. So I am happy to have found Simon’s Heritage Resort through Agoda.com.

I was impressed by how peaceful the resort was when we were there the fact that all rooms were booked then. The greens all over the place, the structure of the building, and chairs and tables on the veranda gives that homey vibe. The view upstairs is nice during the mornings while we  having coffee! It was the perfect time for us to recharge after nights of partying at Mt.Malasimbo. It was also a delight to see the employees were all smiles to give service.
FOOD AND DRINKS
Budget: Â 1200 for 3 days 2 nights stay, this includes only lunch and dinner as we have free breakfast (for 2pax)

The food at White Beach is a bit more expensive than from other provinces that I went to. So at least have a budget of 100 for every meal. In our case, to stretch our budget for food, we had brunch (breakfast and lunch) at the resort on our second day since we woke up late from partying. We also suggest to buy some in between-snacks at the market  in case you crave- we bought fruits. Be creative as much as possible to strain your resources.
We spent around 6700php for our Puerto Galera trip. Not Bad right? But if you want to do some activities like Banana boating,jet ski, or go shopping, bring extra money!
So WhenInManila, do not fret of exploring Puerto Galera if you are on a budget! It will still be fun either you have 6700php or ten thousand bucks! It is a matter of budgeting for food and finding a cheap but good place to stay at like Simon’s Heritage Resort through Agoda.com and of course spending vacation with fun people who also love adventure.
