Emilia Clarke says she’s done with Daenerys after GoT wraps up

Winter is arriving soon (July 16, to be exact), and as Game of Thrones kicks off its seventh season by then, this means there would only be one season left to go before the series wraps up.

And while there are plans for multiple spinoffs from the hugely popular show, one key character may not be coming back at all: Daenerys Targaryen, as played by Emilia Clarke!

The 30-year-old actress revealed that she’s ready to move on from the franchise once Game of Thrones ends with its eighth season.

In an interview with Rolling Stone, Emilia said:

“I mean, I have no doubt there’ll be prequels and sequels and who knows what else. But am doing one more season. And then that’ll be it.”

It was revealed earlier this year that five spinoffs, called by George R.R. Martin as “extensions”, were in the works.
