ELECKTRA Returns: A Bold, Contemporary Take on the Classic Tragedy

Coming this July due to popular demand is a provoking contemporary adaptation of the classic Sophocles tragedy.

This adaptation by Nelsito Gomez of Elecktra explores themes of family dysfunction and grief through the language of today. The story presents Elecktra grieving the loss of her father, who was murdered by her mother and uncle. As she devises her plan for revenge, a key figure from her past returns to her and her sister’s lives.

This production is also directed by Nelsito Gomez, with production design by Sarah Facuri. It features a cast of both young talents and veteran actors, namely Dippy Arceo as Elecktra, Issa Litton as Clytemnaestra, Dani Roque as Chrysothemis, Ysh Bautista as Orestes, and Tarek El Tayech as Aegisthus. It will run for two weekends at The Mirror Theatre Studio in Poblacion, Makati.
