On February 16 (Philippine time), the Filipino pole vaulter secured the victory with a season-best performance, clearing 5.80 meters in three attempts.

Hometown bet Piotr Lisek won the silver medal, soaring 5.70 meters. Norway’s Sondre Guttormsen also cleared 5.70 meters but took home bronze due to a countback.

This marks Obiena’s second gold medal of the 2025 indoor season, following his victory at the Meeting Metz Moselle Athlelor in France, where he cleared 5.70 meters.
