Eddie Garcia Collapsed While Taping, Fell Into a Brief Coma

Ninety-year-old veteran actor Eddie Garcia reportedly fell into a brief coma after collapsing in Tondo while taping for his new teleserye with a working title “Rosang Agimat”, set to air under GMA 7. He, fortunately, already came into consciousness just this afternoon according to reports.

The news started when Glaysa Apoya posted a photo via Facebook of the actor being carried by several people in what looks like a filming set. She wrote, “An accident occurred today in the set. Let’s pray for Mr. Eddie Garcia?”

TV reporter MJ Marfori confirmed the news. She wrote via Facebook: “Pray for Eddie Garcia. Initial reports say he fell down during his teleserye taping for GMA-7. Acc to a post by Direk Armand Reyes, he is currently in coma in a hospital in Tondo.”

Direk Armand Reyes also posted a status update saying, “Pray for Manoy Eddie,” and adding, “He is currently in coma in Mary Johnston Hospital in Tondo.”

Writer Allan Diones, thankfully, updated netizens regarding the actor’s status. He wrote, “Good news! Na-revive na raw poh si Titoh Eddie Garcia and will be transferred to a hospital in [Quezon City!] But let’s keep praying for him poh, thanks!” [“Good news! “Uncle” Eddie Garcia was revived and transferred in Quezon City! But let’s keep praying for him, thanks!”

Eddie Garcia’s most recent projects were “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano” as Don Emilio Syquía and “Little Nanay” as “Don Miguel “Migz / G Pop” Vallejo.”
