Director behind Avengers: Endgame claims that it will be Stan Lee’s last cameo

After months of back and forth, of claims that pre-recorded cameos exist, Joe Russo has stepped up to say that Stan Lee’s appearance in Avengers: Endgame is highly likely to be his last. Joe Russo, alongside his brother Anthony, is the co-director behind the final installment of this Avengers arc.

In a press event for Endgame in India, Russo confirmed Stan Lee’s cameo and addressed the speculation surrounding it. He announced:

I believe that his final cameo is in Endgame. I don’t remember if he was well enough to do the cameo in Spiderman homecoming. But it was incredible to work with him.

However, Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige recently hinted at a possibility of Stan Lee appearing in Spider-Man: Homecoming. When asked in an interview about a cameo in the Spider-Man sequel, Feige vaguely replied: “we’ll see”. Others have taken that to mean that homage or references will be played out but not necessarily a cameo. I suppose only time will tell. But it has been confirmed that no cameo was shot ahead for Dark Phoenix.

If this is to be his last cameo, it will round out his career with 22 roles in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). It seems only fitting that this will be his last appearance role. It will certainly make the movie all the more emotional for long-time fans.

What do you think we’ll see Stan Lee doing in the cameo?
