To celebrate its 10th anniversary, the 2016 LGBTQ+ comedy-drama film Die Beautiful is getting a stage adaptation.
The IdeaFirst Company recently announced that Die Beautiful: The Musical is in the works, promising a live experience that brings the film’s humor, heart, and unforgettable characters to life. The production teases, “Be seen, be heard, die beautiful.”

Die Beautiful follows Trisha, a trans woman who passes away after winning a beauty pageant. The film tells her story through a series of flashbacks.
Die Beautiful is directed by Jun Robles Lana and stars Paolo Ballesteros, Christian Bables, Joel Torre, Gladys Reyes, Luis Alandy, and Albie Casiño.

Who can audition?
Aspiring actors of any gender, ages 20 to 40 and above, who can sing, dance, act, and do drag are welcome to audition. Here’s what you’ll need to prepare:

Perform one monologue from Die Beautiful

Learn and perform a choreography during the audition
Auditions are scheduled for March 2026, with exact date, time, and venue details provided upon registration. The production follows a strict “No form, no audition” policy, so make sure to submit your online registration by March 15, 2026, at 11:59 PM.
