Did Taylor Swift form a new ‘band’ to cover ‘Look What You Made Me Do’?

The Swifties are at it again. Fans of Taylor Swift have speculated that the singer formed a new “band” to release a cover of her song, Look What You Made Me Do.

The song was released as a cover on the show Killing Eve. The singer tweeted, “VERY STOKED about this cover of lwymmd on @KillingEve by Jack leopards & the dolphin club!!”

However, Swifties were quick to find out that Jack Leopards & the Dolphin Club wasn’t a real band. In fact, fans found out that the song was credited to producer Jack Antonoff (who also co-wrote the song) and Nils Sjöberg. As some probably know, Nils Sjöberg was the pseudonym Swift used when she co-wrote Calvin Harris and Rihanna’s This is What You Came For.

Another theory that Swifties came up with is that the song was covered by none other than the singer’s brother, Austin Swift. It took a little trip down memory lane for fans to figure this one out, though.

First, Austin used to have the Twitter handle “The Dolphin Club.” Second, the song’s cover photo looks like it was a childhood photo of him with a box with the words “Jack Leopards” covering his face.

Lastly, the show’s executive producer, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, reportedly pitched that she wanted Austin to sing on the show’s soundtrack. Taylor, Austin, and Jack were also photographed last year in a recording studio. With this, fans are left to believe that indeed, Jack Leopards & the Dolphin Club was a fake band the singer created to re-record her single.

So why did Taylor Swift make up a fake band to cover Look What You Made Me Do?

Many believe that this is a way that the singer to outsmart Scooter Braun. In June 2019, Swift called out Braun when Ithaca Holdings LLC acquired her former record label Big Machine Label Group. Since then, the singer has expressed her interest in re-recording all of her old songs.

After all, the pop star is known for hiding Easter Eggs in everything she does.
