Dan and Phil finally addressed longtime speculations about their relationship.

The popular YouTubers confirmed the status of their relationship in a 46-minute video titled “Are Dan and Phil in a relationship?”
Dan Howell opened the video with: “Alright, let’s get this over with. Are Dan and Phil in a relationship?” and Phil Lestered briefly answered: “Yes.”
Dan came out as gay in a YouTube video back in 2019, with Phil sharing his own coming-out story later that month.
The duo, however, has been together for 16 years. Their relationship began when they “fell hard and fast” in 2009.
“It was so fast that we never labelled it. We just ended up living together, and here we are,” Dan shared.
They also acknowledged that they have one of the most positive and healthiest audiences on the internet, and that coming out together made them feel even more supported despite the noise and gossip surrounding them.
“There will always be gossip about what’s going on privately. Speculations? Yes, because it is human nature to be nosy. I’m nosy, but we accept. It’s just a fact,” the pair noted.
“But we don’t care. We can’t live in fear anymore. I have this holding us back personally, emotionally,” Dan added.
With that, they quipped that they are “partners in everything.”
“It’s not always perfect. Don’t get into your head that we are the ideal of human partnerships. We have had ups and downs like anybody,” they candidly reflected. “We have lived a thousand lifetimes of a normal person’s partnership, and I have no idea why we’ve survived.”
Dan and Phil are popular YouTubers who do collaborative and entertaining content. As of writing, they have 2.92 million subscribers.
