Cyclist Will Ride 1km Per Like to Help Raise Money for Baby with Biliary Atresia

We’ve written about Baby Johann before, a one year old boy diagnosed with a rare liver disease. In March his parents held a benefit gig for him in Makati, featuring Ebe Dancel and more bands, in the hopes of raising money for his treatments and transplant. The latter costs roughly around 4 to 5 million pesos.

Liver For A Life: A Benefit Gig for Baby JohannBaby Johann

The fight continues, and close friends of the family are extending whatever help they can to save Baby Johann’s precious life. A couple of days ago, a Facebook post on Top Gear Philippines (facebook.com/topgearphilippines) went viral when avid cyclist Japo Percero shared and brought her cause to the public eye. In the post, she wrote:

“Day 1 of 30 – Cavite-Manila-Bulacan-Pampanga-back. Total distance: 223.2km. Today marks the first day of my 3,000km ride in 30 days. Today, I ride for Baby Johann, who is suffering from Biliary Atresia, a rare disease of the liver that occurs in infants. Symptoms of the disease appear and develop about two to eight weeks after birth, and it requires an intricate operation to be cured completely. Unfortunately, the complications only get worse through time, and when the infant reaches his second year of age, it becomes fatal. Baby Johann is coming dangerously close to this age and an operation is more urgent than ever.

I shall ride 1km for every like on this post. But every kilometer is toward the person liking it. Thus, if you click like, you are agreeing to donate P10 for Johann’s operation, but you don’t have to worry about anything else but that. All you need to do is PM me your address, and I will personally collect it from wherever you are, at your most convenient schedule.

So long as you are in Luzon area and my bike can reach you, to you I shall go. I am devoting my 30 days purely to this cause, uninterrupted.

I hope you can share this with your friends and family.

A life depends on it. Thank you for your help and your heart! Visit and like Baby Johann’s page for updates: https://web.facebook.com/HopeforJohann
