Crying Between 7 to 10 PM Can Help you Lose Weight According to a Study

If you’re quite the crier and have also been seeking ways to lose some lbs then, friend, you’re in luck. A scientific study reportedly discovered that crying can help you lose weight, especially if you do it between the hours of 7 and 10 in the evening.

How does it work?

Biochemist William Frey shares that stress-induced tears help remove many kinds of toxins from our bodies. So you can just image how many toxic substances we’re releasing every time we cry. And because we’re also getting rid of those stress hormones every time we cry, the study reveals that our bodies become less susceptible to storing more fat.

And, apparently, 7 to 10 PM are the best hours to do it as the cortisone-releasing effect in our bodies that happen when we cry (and which helps fight inflammation and stress) is most at peak at these hours. But remember, only emotion-based tears work and not the tears that help keep our eyes moist or that we get as a reaction to irritation.

So if you wanna lose some weight tonight, time to whip out that senti playlist or that emo K-drama series you can’t seem to get enough of.

But at least this study proves what we’ve always heard—crying is good for you!
