On May 19, the Comelec announced the suspension of their proclamation due to their pending cases involving grave violation of election laws.

“Considering the serious allegations raised in the above petitions which involved grave violation of election laws, the National Board of Canvassers resolves to suspend the proclamation of Duterte Youth Party-list and Bagong Henerasyon Party-list until the speedy and judicious resolution of the petitions filed before the Clerk of Commission,” Comelec Chairman George Garcia stated.

The Duterte Youth party-list, known for its strong association with former President Rodrigo Duterte, has faced multiple legal challenges since its inception. Notably, a 2019 petition questioned the eligibility of its nominees, citing age qualifications and compliance issues with publication and public hearing requirements. In March, petitioners renewed their calls, urging the Comelec to resolve the petition.

The Duterte Youth party-list ranked second with over two million votes, while the BH party-list placed 39th in the 2025 midterm elections, earning them three and one seats in Congress, respectively.

Both party-list groups released an official statement following the suspension of their proclamation. See them below:

As of this writing, 52 party-list groups have been proclaimed and will occupy the 63 party-list seats in the 20th Congress.
