Christian Bautista Reveals How Marriage Changed Him as a Musician

Written by Aira Mae Parado

Christian Bautista is an impressive musician. On the outside, he seems so casual and chill, but the moment he starts singing, everything becomes romantic. There’s something about his music that has the power to either calm the heart or make everyone who listens go emotional. Or both at the same time. We, who grew up with his music, can safely say that he has made an indelible mark in OPM. He’s Asia’s Romantic Balladeer, after all.

In November of last year, he got married to Kat Ramnani, and they have been officially husband and wife for a few months now.

Fans have been wondering about the life he has been living since marriage and, luckily, we had the chance to speak with him during his contract renewal with Universal Records.

Firstly, Christian admits that he can no longer plan by and for himself. He added, “it’s all about “we” now. We plan for both. Like where we want to stay, what we want to eat, and what activities we want to do together.” Laughing, he also joked, “times two ang budget kapag bakasyon.

And when asked whether or not it has altered anything in his career, Christian graciously shared, “the way I understand love became deeper. I realized that marriage is not just a contract. It’s a commitment talaga.

He spoke, as a musician, what he feels is reflected in the songs he does now. “When I sing love songs, mas may meaning. And when I sing break-up songs, mas masakit na.

Christian recently released his newest single, “Aking Mahal,” the official theme song of GMA’s telebabad show, “The Crown Princess.” He dedicates this song to wife Kat Ramnani, and we all can listen to it through Spotify.

Christian says he enjoys being a husband and the journey has been pleasant so far. Now that he has renewed his contract with Universal Records, I guess we can anticipate a more inspired Christian Bautista!
