Nacho Grande

The Nacho Grande was the first on the food itinerary and it was a packed bowl. The nachos were plentiful and the toppings were as well. The heavyweight toppings comprised of beans, jalapeno, tomato, and ground beef.  The blend of the ingredients was perfect and it went well with the crispy nacho.

Chihuahua’s Chicken Salad

The Chicken Salad at Chihuahua had a little twist. Instead of getting just the regular chicken salad, you’d get a little Mexican spin on things with some tortilla chips and pico de gallo. The shredded chicken breast was the selling point as it was grilled to perfection. When you take a bite out of it, you could feel the juiciness of the chicken. This is definitely one salad you should order here.

Chicken and Spinach Quesadilla

The Chicken and Spinach Quesadilla was the next item of our culinary itinerary that night. The chicken/spinach duet was engulfed with a mixture of the following types of cheese (Cheddar, Monterey Jack and some ‘House Cheese’) inside the tortilla wrap. I have to admit, this was one of my favorite dishes that night. The Quesadilla also comes with three dips (Pico de gallo, Sour Cream and Chipotle).

How….lovely 😀

If there was one food that would give your taste buds a metaphorical orgasm, Chihuahua’s Chicken and Spinach Quesadilla would be just that. After I took a bite out of the Quesadilla, I could taste that tender chicken, the spinach and the melted trio of cheese.  It danced gracefully around my tongue before I gulped it down for digestion. This is one dish I’m sure I’ll order during my next visit at Chihuahua.

Burrito Bowl w/ Pork

We had the Burrito Bowl next; which is one of Chihuahua’s best selling dishes. Imagine this, a bowl with the usual Burrito ingredients (beans, rice, etc) with Carnitas (pork) on top. Ms. Ines told us that the pork was roasted for four hours to give off a soft and tasty feature to the dish. I had to agree. When we took a bite out of the Burrito Bowl, it was pretty fantastic. The pork had that tender and juicy texture that all of us would look for. The Burrito Bowl was slightly spicy but it was just the right kind of spicy for those who are not used to the spicy stuff (me included). The serving size of the bowl is good enough for 3 to 4 people.

Soft Tacos w/ Picadillo

The Picadillo Soft Tacos was one of the most interesting dishes in Chihuahua. Mr. Elian told us that this was his favorite dish, due to its addictive nature. Even though I wasn’t too fond of spicy food, the Picadillo filling got me hooked after my first bite. The spicy ground beef (the Picadillo) and the rest of the ingredients was such a beautiful combination that I couldn’t stop eating until it was gone from my hands. The Picadillo Soft Tacos was a very addictive and awesome dish.

The Big Steak Burrito

After sampling the Burrito Bowl, it was now time to sample the real thing: Chihuahua’s Steak Burrito. This Burrito serving size was huge that we had to cut it up in four parts. This huge Burrito had the USDA Choice Steak as its main ingredient that went along with the standard burrito ingredients (refried beans, black beans, Mexican rice, pico de gallo and the like).

 Chili Bowl

Mr. Elian gave us a batch of chili that same night. I had to admit, it was my FIRST time to eat a bowl of chili.  After taking a bite out of the chili, my taste buds were sent into the stratosphere thanks to its great collaboration of flavors that was in that dish.

Chihuahua’s Chihuahuharita (left) and Mango Loco (right)

The night was not complete if we didn’t have some nice drinks to wash down all the lovely food. Chihuahua treated us to a couple of awesome drinks: Mango Loco and Chihuahuarita. The Mango Loco had a fine sweet taste that would make me want to ask for seconds. The Chihuahuarita, on the other hand, is Chihuahua’s signature drink that is made of real tequila with lime juice. The spice salt on the rim of the drink makes the Chihuahuarita more special. Outside their two signature drinks, Chihuahua features an assorted list of drinks ranging from imported beer and juices such as Cornona, Dos Equis and AriZona.
