Charice Meets Oprah Again, Tells Her That Her Soul is Male
When Oprah Winfrey dubbed Charice Pempengco as “the most talented girl in the world,” the gates of stardom opened for the young singer, who wowed audiences around the world with her stunning vocals. Since then, she has performed with Iyaz, Celine Dion, David Foster, and Andrea Bocelli, as well as a planned performance with the late Michael Jackson. She was even on Glee!
She made global headlines again in 2013 when she came out of the closet. And gradually her style started to change, becoming more masculine. And for the first time in a long time, she looked… happy. Now, she’s meeting the woman who dubbed her most talented to discuss her life as an out and proud gay woman.
In the interview, Oprah asked if Charice was going to get a sex change. Charice said, “Not exactly transitioning to a male, but basically my soul is like male. But I’m not going to go through that stage where I’m going to change everything – not change my body.”
The interview will be aired today on Oprah: Where Are They Now?, on the Oprah Winfrey Network. It is not clear whether the episode will be aired in the Philippines. Watch the teaser below:
