Celebrity Fortune-Teller Madam Auring Passes Away

Actress and celebrity fortune-teller Madam Auring (real name Aurea Erfelo) has passed away on Friday, October 30. She was 80 years old.

The tragic news was confirmed by her grandsons on separate Facebook posts.

“#RestInPeace my Lola. Few days ago binisita kita, magkausap lang tayo, dinalhan kita ng mga pasalubong at mga pangangailangan mo, lubos ka nagalak,” wrote Daryl Simon Pecson.

“Grabe ang pinag daanan mo during your senior years pero you still worked hard for your family (us) I feel sad and happy. Sad kasi I will never see you again, mga wisdom words mo, korni jokes, happy bondings, and pagkurot sa aking pisngi hanggang mamula,” he continued.

“Happy ako kasi you have done everything you could to make us feel loved the way you know how, your struggles are over. You fought your battles silently. Magkikita na kayo ni Mama sa kabilang buhay. You shall always be in our hearts. Love you.”

It has yet to be disclosed by family members what the cause of her death was.

Madam Auring, born in March 1940, grew to fame after predicting the Amparo Muñoz would win the 1974 Miss Universe title and gained her nickname from Muhammad Ali after correctly predicting his victory against Joe Frazier in the Thrilla in Manila boxing event. Many politicians and celebrities have sought her advice through the years. Being also an actress, she has starred in many films from the 1980s to 2011.

May she rest in peace.
