“As Butterboy continues to grow, we’ve reached a point where we need to focus on building and expanding Butterboy for the future,” the statement read. According to the post, closing the QC branch allows the team to “realign and strengthen” operations in preparation for what’s next, adding, “New spaces, new ideas, and better ways to serve more people.”

The QC store continued accepting dine-in orders until January 4, 2026. Meanwhile, Butterboy’s kiosk branches at SM Mall of Asia, SM North EDSA, and SM San Lazaro will remain open.

Butterboy started as a passion project by a gay couple looking for good food during their date nights. Over time, it became known not just for its pastries, but also for hosting daylight drag shows at its Quezon City space.

On the menu are croissants priced from around ₱59 to ₱80, with crowd favorites like the Pain au Chocolat (₱75) and Kouign Amann (₱70).

While the QC branch is closing its doors, the brand says it’s focusing on future plans, with its mall kiosks continuing to serve customers for now.
