BPI X DLSU MaFIA: FINANCE IN THE DIGITAL AGE

As the role of Finance in any business continues to grow and evolve given the implications of the future, one might ask, where are we headed? The advent of technology has given various new avenues to explore, and this definitely translates into the field of finance. Given this context, The Management of Financial Institutions Association (MaFIA), a duly recognized professional organization of De La Salle University – Manila that caters to Financial Management majors, will hold an event of amazing proportions as part of its goals to continuously nurture not only its members; but also their fellow LaSallians, and other partnering universities and delegates who will take part in this year’s BPI Summit 2019: Building Progressive Ideas Towards Digital Transformation, to be held on the 30th of March 2019, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM, at the William Shaw Little Theater, De La Salle University- Manila. This event will be MaFIA’s first collaboration with the Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI), wherein there will be series of lectures featuring four professionals from the said bank namely, Clive Manuel O. Wee Sit, Assistant Vice President of the Global Markets Group, Jan Lenard S. David, Assistant Vice President of the Risk Management Office, Chairell Winston C. Almendras, Assistant Vice President and Head of Digital, Media, and Publicity, and Michael D. Calleja, Senior Vice President and Head of Treasury-Asset and Liability Management.

BPI Summit 2019 envisions to educate and create an avenue for young individuals to be more exposed in the financial environment. At the same time, this summit has the mission of enlightening students to work in the field of corporate banking through the lecture topics which will center on banking and financial themes of treasury, assets liabilities management, and risk management in the age of digital transformation and disruption. With this, obviously comes the urgency of creating a career in the said field with various job opportunities continuing to open-up. To resolve this, BPI has also prepared a career booth on the same day where it will accept on-site applications for internship and employment.
