Books at Undertow Books Will Let You Explore the World
There are so many things to do when in Manila that we sometimes forget to just let our imagination run free and explore. These days, with everybody so consumed with gadgets, technology and work; most of us have stopped turning to pages of books and have just let ourselves drift away from good old paperbacks. Undertow Books reminds us to keep on reading and to keep on travelling with our minds through words carefully written by authors of different times, ages, and eras.
There have been a lot of bookshops sprouting online that sells a variety of pocketbooks and, most commonly, young adult novels. But if you are looking for some poetry, literary fiction, and philosophical works, then Undertow Books is the best place for you. Undertow Books carries hundreds of different books for you to choose from and they offer items that are somewhat hard to find in the arena of online bookshops. They also carry titles of some of my favorite authors, like Chuck Palahniuk, Neil Gaiman, and Pablo Neruda, among many others.
My personal reads lately. You can’t find them all at Undertow Books, but you can always request a book!
What struck me the most about this online shop was not only their awesome titles, but also their goals for the future. Undertow Books is living for their 100 x 100 goals, which they are looking to fulfil in the coming years. They would like to create a change in the world of Filipino Literature, as well as in the way that Pinoys take reading as is.
They basically have two goals, both of which consist of 100 things: (1) they pledged to create 100 public libraries to the remote areas of the country and (2) they aim to support 100 authors and aid them in the publications of their manuscripts. Awesome, right?
This weekend’s read recommended by Undertow Books! Awesome novel, I tell you.
As you can see, Undertow Books doesn’t just let you read books from your favorite author or explore other worlds; they also contribute to society and make a change. Help them do so!
